Caring For Your Shampoo Bar

So you’ve decided to ditch the bottle for the Bar...sound the applause! Well done!! You will never look back :D

Your hair (and skin) will thank you. From the very first use, you’ll notice a marked difference between liquid shampoo and “avago.” bars. From the ease of use when determining which section gets the most attention, to how little you really need.

A silky, creamy lather is induced when gently massaging your locks. This lather is so creamy and gentle on your hair that with just a little effort, you are able to glide your fingers through it. Before your “conditioning”! This is possible because of the lovely conditioning ingredients that lie dormant in each bar, waiting to be christened with water. They bloom into action, imparting detangling nourishment along with other beneficial actives.

But here’s the thing...This lovely Bar, when not properly considered, can disappear sooner than it needs to.

So here are a few tips to get the MOST and BEST out of it:

  • The Wet:

This might seem a redundant statement, but simply running water over your scalp is not good enough. Make sure you run your hands over the top and to the ends of your hair, then squeeze out any excess water in preparation for the GLIDE :)

  • The Glide:

With Bar in hand, begin at the longest part of your hair. If you have short hair, start at its nape (base of your skull). Then circle the bar inwards, working from the outer edges towards the center of your scalp in one, fluid motion.

  • The Lather:

Placing the bar aside, start gently massaging your hair beginning at its length (or back of the head/base) and work it into that signature, creamy lather. Paying particular attention to the underside and edges of your hair, massaging with your fingertips until you reach the top of your scalp. Once the rich lather creams up, begin to softly run your hands over the entire surface area, while gently dividing your strands with your fingers. Much like you would after applying conditioner. This might be a good time to also use a wide-tooth comb, to save your nails ;) In no time, your hair will have surrendered under the persuasive assault and rewarded you with its submission.

  • The Wait:

It’s now time to apply to the rest of you. Secure your hair on top and away you go. This Bar is so gentle you can use it all over. I like to take from the generous excess of lather. But if that’s not enough, just roll with it ;) Once you are ready, it’s as simple as rinsing. So easy! You’ll notice straight away how silky your hair feels compared to your old, liquid shampoo. Even before applying a conditioning treatment!

  • The End:

This is a good time to try NOT to use a conditioner!?! Which you must be the best judge of. But may I encourage you to try? Because you might find that the conditioning lovelies I’ve included in each Bar may be all your hair needs. Having said that, if your hair has been through “the ringer” it’s time for some tender loving care. And for this, avago. has a hair moisturizer just for your needs. Just as easy as applying, rinsing, or as a leave-in. And the wonder is achieved with the smallest amount.

Maintaining Your Bar:

Because these Bars are made with amazing ingredients, that are packed with goodies waiting to be released and get to work, it needs water to do this! So, loving water as it does the Bar will simply not only melt away your hair’s most challenging issues but also itself.

The best thing for it is to nestle in a location away from any off-spray and splash zone. In a soap dish that gives it access to airflow. Preferably all-around airflow. The tin that your Bar comes in is perfect for traveling with, but not ideal to sit in if it’s wet. So a small investment in a bamboo or acrylic dish will extend the life of your Bar.

You can and will expect over 100 washes (& much, more;) using these tips I’ve left for you. The only thing left to say is...

So avago. whydonchya?
