Mesquite

Mesquite is a tree native to the Southwest U.S. and South America, which can also be found in the drier areas of Australia. It has a deliciously sweet, caramel-like flavour, is a good source of many important minerals, and is very high in calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. Because of its high fiber content, Mesquite may also help slow the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, which can prevent spikes and crashes in blood sugar and stabilize levels long term. The Mesquite powder benefits also come from its potential anti-fungal properties, immune-boosting abilities, and high protein percentage. The fiber that it contains moves through your gastrointestinal tract undigested and is essential to digestive health, and could contribute to sturdier bone health, easier relaxation, & better muscle recovery because it contains calcium, magnesium, copper, & iron.

Lucuma

Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Lucuma is considered a good source of complex carbs, dietary fibre, alkalizing minerals, niacin (vitamin B3), carotenoids and phenolic compounds (both containing antioxidants, it contains both soluble and (mostly) insoluble fibres [4], helping to add bulk to the stool, attract water and soften for easy bowel motions, relieving constipation. Lucuma is a natural alpha-glucosidase inhibitor and is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, they delay the absorption of carbohydrates in the gut, therefore lowering the blood glucose and insulin spikes that would occur after a meal. Polyphenols, of which lucuma is rich, are preventative of hypertension and help normalise blood pressure. Lucuma powder is a natural low GI sweetener that tastes creamy and sweet, like maple syrup. It’s a much healthier substitute for sugar.

Xylitol

Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar but has fewer calories and doesn’t raise blood sugar levels. Several studies suggest that it has various important benefits, including improved dental health. Xylitol is categorized as sugar alcohol. Though the word “alcohol” is part of its name, it’s not the same alcohol that makes you drunk. Sugar alcohols are safe for people with alcohol addictions. Chemically, sugar alcohols combine traits of sugar molecules and alcohol molecules. Their structure allows them to stimulate the taste receptors for sweetness on your tongue. Xylitol is found in small amounts in many fruits and vegetables and is therefore considered natural. Humans even produce small quantities of it via normal metabolism. Xylitol can be processed from trees like birch or from a plant fiber called xylan. Xylitol’s glycemic index (GI) — a measure of how quickly a food raises blood sugar — is only 7, whereas regular sugar is 60–70. Oral bacteria feed on glucose from food, but they can not use xylitol. As such, replacing sugar with xylitol reduces the available fuel for the harmful bacteria (11 Trusted Source). While these bacteria cannot use xylitol for fuel, they still ingest it. After absorbing xylitol, they are unable to take up glucose — meaning that their energy-producing pathway is clogged and they end up dying.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a good source of:

  • Thiamine (vitamin B1)

  • Riboflavin (vitamin B2)

  • Niacin (vitamin B3)

  • Copper

  • Iron

Spirulina also contains magnesium. This mineral supports normal daily functions like muscle use and your heartbeat. It contains a powerful plant-based protein called phycocyanin. Research shows this may have antioxidant, pain-relief, anti-inflammatory, and brain-protective properties. Many antioxidants in spirulina have anti-inflammatory effects on the body. Chronic inflammation contributes to cancer and other diseases. Phycocyanin — the plant pigment that gives spirulina its blue-green color — has been found to not only reduce inflammation in the body but also block tumor growth and kill cancer cells. The immune-enhancing protein is being studied for its potential in cancer treatment. Research has found that the protein in spirulina can reduce the body’s absorption of cholesterol, lowering cholesterol levels. This helps keep your arteries clear, reducing strain on your heart that can lead to heart disease and stroke-causing blood clots.

Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass packs a whole lot of bang for its nutritional buck. It’s a concentrated source of vitamins, minerals, and other essentials, including:

  • iron

  • potassium

  • vitamins A, C, and E

  • magnesium

  • calcium

  • amino acids

  • chlorophyll

  • flavonoids

Wheatgrass has long been used as a remedy for diarrhea and other digestive issues, though there’s not much formal research backing this up. But science does suggest that wheatgrass juice might help reduce symptoms of more serious gastrointestinal issues like ulcerative colitis, plus, chlorophyll has been shown to stimulate the production of red blood cells needed to build healthy new tissue. that the antioxidants in wheatgrass have the potential to fight the buildup of harmful plaque in your arteries in the face of a high-fat diet. It has the potential to lower levels of total cholesterol and increase levels of HDL (“good”) cholesterol. A small 2005 study found that wheatgrass reduced the number of blood transfusions needed in people with the blood disorder thalassemia. The antioxidants in wheatgrass appear to play a role in fighting off cancer cells. Though the research is still quite limited, test-tube studies have shown that wheatgrass can kill both mouth cancer and leukemia cells, leading some scientists to suggest that the plant could one day play a role in cancer management.

Green Barley Grass

I can’t think of a better nutritional ingredient rich in essentials than Barley Grass! It’s so nutrient-dense that it can supply complete nutritional support. Barley juice powder bolsters good health by providing:

  • Chlorophyll

  • Antioxidant enzymes: particularly, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and nitrogen reductase

  • Antioxidant bioflavonoids: a number of C-glycosylflavones, including saponarin and lutonarin

  • Eight essential amino acids, making it an extremely rich source of protein, with 15 times more protein than milk

  • Minerals: calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and copper

  • Vitamins: beta-Carotene, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, pantothenic acid, lutein and folic acid

Loaded with bioactive compounds like superoxide dismutase and bioflavonoids, barley grass scavenges free radicals in the body. This may play a role in reducing inflammation in chronic diseases such as rheumatoid synovitis, arthritis and gout. With 11 times more calcium than milk, barley grass juice is an excellent source of this mineral, especially for people who don't eat dairy products. Its store of manganese also improves normal bone production. Iron, copper, folic acid, vitamins C, B6 and B12, and protein are all vital to maintaining hemoglobin levels and forming red blood cells, and these nutrients are found in abundance in barley grass. It has five times more iron than spinach, and iron improves blood volume and prevents anemia and fatigue. Vitamin C helps improve the body's resistance to disease and infection. Barley grass proteins are easily absorbed polypeptides, and once in the blood, promote cell metabolism and neutralize free radicals. The bonus is the cell-regeneration effects of other nutrients in barley grass, such as chlorophyll, iron, and vitamin B, also impact skin quality, for added impact.

Alfalfa Powder

Alfalfa is renowned for its deep root system growing as much as 40 metres into the earth thereby absorbing rare trace elements that most plants do not have an opportunity to absorb. Alfalfa is one of nature's richest sources of nutrients, it is high in chlorophyll and is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, trace minerals, enzymes and all the known vitamins, including beta carotene, K and U. It is also up to ten times richer in minerals than most cereals. The minerals are in a balanced form and very alkaline they, therefore, have a neutralizing effect on the intestinal tract allowing them to be properly absorbed. It is commonly used for arthritis, and it is helpful with stomach disorders. Alfalfa contains high levels of the B complex vitamins plus A, C, D, E, K, and Biotin. It is also a rich source of protein, choline, inositol and PABA. Alfalfa is high in fibre and a useful component in weight reduction diets, as its high nutritional value and ability to expand in the stomach reduces appetite. The high calcium intake also offers protection against fat accumulation and therefore enables fat to be used for energy. It has been recognised by naturopaths as a useful adjunct in the treatment of diabetes, jaundice and kidney complaints, anaemia and rheumatism. Alfalfa, being highly alkaline assists in the control of uric acid, which builds up around the joints, and can be a cause of arthritic pain & gout. Alfalfa also works as a detoxifier, infection fighter and cleanser, and is particularly noted for its diuretic effect, helping to expel retained fluid from the body. It is good for colon disorders and helps detoxify the liver.

Zeolite - Micronised Clinoptilolite

Zeolite is silica-based volcanic ash (sand-like mineral) that forms over time. Zeolite is an alkaline mineral that is very porous and has a negative charge. Since most toxins, such as heavy metals, radiation, and pesticides, are positively charged, zeolite is pulled to the toxins, like a magnet, and sucks them up into its structure. Instead of one-particle size, this zeolite is micronized into a range of particle sizes insuring a more complete full-body detox. Smaller zeolite particles are carried into the bloodstream for cellular detox, while the larger particles stay in the digestive tract to act as a binder. This offers a more balanced detox and reduces detox reactions common with many zeolite supplements. These dangerous substances become trapped in zeolite’s cage structure and are then safely and gently carried out of the body:

Heavy Metals- Heavy metals are toxic metals that accumulate in our bodies over time and put an enormous burden on our immune and nervous systems, and make our bodies work overtime to stay healthy. Eventually, our bodies lose the ability to keep up with the excess demand and symptoms such as chronic fatigue, brain fog, irritability, and a host of other symptoms and conditions can manifest. Zeolite can target hidden metals such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic among other in your body and trap them in its cage-like structure for safe removal. Once the heavy metal burden is lifted your body can start functionally at its peak potential again.

Environmental Toxins- In the 21st century we face an unprecedented number of toxic stressors in our daily lives. From the air you breathe, to the food you eat - toxins are everywhere. Over time these toxins accumulate in your body wreaking havoc on your health. Fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, a weakened immune system, and countless health issues are common side effects when these toxins build up. Since these toxins have a positive charge most of them will fall victim to zeolites strong binding capacity for safe removal from the body.

Mold- Mold toxicity is increasingly becoming recognized as a serious problem and a player in a number of serious chronic conditions. Even if you are not currently exposed to mold in your home or workplace it is possible that mold from a previous exposure is multiplying in your body. Mold spores can linger and continue replicating in your body for years even in the absence of external mold exposure. Zeolite is an incredible detoxifier of mold and is a must have in any mold detox protocol.

Radioactive Materials- After being exposed to ionizing radiation, radioactive materials are left in your body and will stick around for years if you don't take action to remove them. Chances are you've got a fair amount of radioactive materials hanging around in your body which have accumulated over the years from CT scans, Mammograms, X-Rays, naturally occurring radiation like radon, medical radiation procedures, nuclear fallout, etc. Zeolite is a fantastic tool to help remove leftover radiation from your body.

Microbial Pathogens- Zeolite can bind to number of pathogenic microbes including Candida and a host of viruses. Zeolite has antiviral properties due to its potential ability to absorb viral particles. A study conducted to evaluate the antiviral properties of micronized clinoptilolite zeolite (what we use in ZeoBoost™) showed promise that zeolite can be used to inhibit viral replication.
