Lucuma

Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Lucuma is considered a good source of complex carbs, dietary fibre, alkalizing minerals, niacin (vitamin B3), carotenoids and phenolic compounds (both containing antioxidants, it contains both soluble and (mostly) insoluble fibres, helping to add bulk to the stool, attract water and soften for easy bowel motions, relieving constipation. Lucuma is a natural alpha-glucosidase inhibitor and is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, they delay the absorption of carbohydrates in the gut, therefore lowering the blood glucose and insulin spikes that would occur after a meal. Polyphenols, of which Lucuma is rich, are preventative of hypertension and help normalise blood pressure. Lucuma powder is a natural low GI sweetener that tastes creamy and sweet, like maple syrup. It’s a much healthier substitute for sugar.

Xylitol

Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar but has fewer calories and doesn’t raise blood sugar levels. Several studies suggest that it has various important benefits, including improved dental health. Xylitol is categorized as sugar alcohol. Though the word “alcohol” is part of its name, it’s not the same alcohol that makes you drunk. Sugar alcohols are safe for people with alcohol addictions. Chemically, sugar alcohols combine traits of sugar molecules and alcohol molecules. Their structure allows them to stimulate the taste receptors for sweetness on your tongue. Xylitol is found in small amounts in many fruits and vegetables and is therefore considered natural. Humans even produce small quantities of it via normal metabolism. Xylitol can be processed from trees like birch or from a plant fiber called xylan. Xylitol’s glycemic index (GI) — a measure of how quickly a food raises blood sugar — is only 7, whereas regular sugar is 60–70. Oral bacteria feed on glucose from food, but they can not use xylitol. As such, replacing sugar with xylitol reduces the available fuel for the harmful bacteria (11 Trusted Source). While these bacteria cannot use xylitol for fuel, they still ingest it. After absorbing xylitol, they are unable to take up glucose — meaning that their energy-producing pathway is clogged and they end up dying.

Mesquite (Organic)

Mesquite Powder is an excellent source of potassium, with 100 grams of whole pod mesquite powder providing 29 percent of the Daily Value (DV) for this important mineral. Mesquite powder also provides 5.7 mg of iron, 253 mg of calcium, 69 mg of magnesium, and 2.7 mg of zinc per 100 grams.

Packed with Fiber; A tablespoon of mesquite powder contains 2 grams of fiber, which corresponds to a whopping 8 percent of the Daily Value for fiber. Most of the fiber in mesquite powder is insoluble fiber which is thought to help fight constipation.

Minerals; Iron deficiency causes one of the most common nutrient deficiencies in the world and is a leading cause of anemia, a condition characterized by low levels of red blood cells. Symptoms associated with inadequate iron levels and anemia include weakness and fatigue, but insufficient iron levels may also cause loss of appetite, brittle nails, and hair loss.

Polyphenols; have strong antioxidant properties. Antioxidants in general, and polyphenols in particular, are thought to have all sorts of benefits, including slowing down aging in general and providing protection against the development of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Mesquite powder has many potential health benefits, including a reduced risk of diabetes, protection against degenerative diseases, anti-inflammatory effects, constipation relief, and prevention of iron deficiency.

Raspberry Powder

Both, red and black raspberries are known as useful against cancers. Cancer occurs when a single cell in our organism changes its DNA, so it becomes unstable and doesn’t follow the directions in the DNA. Just one cell is enough for cancer to start growing. Raspberries have an interesting purpose, by reducing the number of those (damaged) cells, so they reduce the risk of cancer development.

Rich in fiber, these berries help maintain heart health. One cup of raspberries contains 8 grams of fiber, which quantities as 1/2 the equivalent of the freeze dried fruit in Exotic Gold Immune Support Powder per serving!

Another reason raspberries are great for the heart is anthocyanins. Berry fruits are one of the few foods that contain anthocyanins in both the skin and the flesh. The anthocyanins in raspberries also have a variety of other effects on blood vessels and platelets that result in a healthy heart. (However, more research is needed on the number of anthocyanins exactly required and the related decrease in heart disease risk.) Raspberries were also found to widen the arteries, which helps blood flow smoothly and prevents the accumulation of plaque. The anthocyanins in raspberries inhibit the formation of blood clots in the eventuality of stroke. The berries also contain salicylic acid that has cardioprotective properties similar to that of aspirin.

Vitamin C is another compound in raspberries that is known to prevent heart disease – as it prevents plaque formation.

As this is in freeze-dried powder form, the above benefits are greatly increased using a fraction of these powerhouse berries!

Strawberry Powder

Because the strawberry powder is a condensed version of the fruit, the nutritional properties benefit your body even more. The supplement fights free radicals, rejuvenates skin, prevents heart disease and cancer, supports the central nervous system, aids in detoxification, and helps maintain a healthy pregnancy. Based on substantial studies, strawberries are a rich source of many antioxidants. Antioxidants fight to keep your body healthy by eliminating free radicals that cause inflammation that leads to chronic disease. Antioxidants give electrons to the volatile free radicals that are without electrons, so the free radicals will not take the electrons from the healthy cells, which destroys your good cells. With the increase of antioxidants, the existence of oxidative stress in your body slows down, impeding the aging progress and formation of most diseases, such as heart disease, cancer, neurological disorders, and diabetes.

Research indicates strawberry supplements block the beginning of cancer formation and carcinogenesis and suppress the proliferation and progression of cancer tumors.

Strawberries assist in detoxing the body by restoring the digestive tract, supporting digestive regularity, and offering anti-inflammatory antioxidants. The high content of vitamin A and vitamin C helps as well since these two vitamins are necessary for the progress of any detoxification of your body.

One serving of strawberries provides 28 percent of the recommended daily allowance of manganese. The component helps support your nervous system, including the prevention of neurological disorders and overall brain health.

Glucosamine Sulphate

Glucosamine is a chemical found in the body. Glucosamine supplements are sold as glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride, and N-acetyl glucosamine.

Glucosamine is used by the body to make other chemicals that build tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and the fluid that surrounds joints. Joints are cushioned by the fluid and cartilage around them. Taking glucosamine might increase the cartilage and fluid around joints and/or help prevent their breakdown. It serves as a building block for a variety of functional molecules in your body but is primarily recognized for developing and maintaining cartilage within your joints.

Glucosamine exists naturally in your body. One of its main roles is to support the healthy development of the tissues between your joints. Articular cartilage is a type of smooth white tissue that covers the ends of your bones where they meet to form joints. This kind of tissue — along with a lubricating liquid called synovial fluid — allows bones to move freely across one another, minimizing friction and allowing for painless movement at your joints.

Glucosamine helps form several chemical compounds involved in the creation of articular cartilage and synovial fluid. Some studies indicate that supplemental glucosamine may protect joint tissue by preventing the breakdown of cartilage. Multiple studies indicate that supplementing daily with glucosamine sulfate may offer effective, long-term treatment for osteoarthritis by providing a significant reduction in pain, maintenance of joint space, and overall slowing of disease progression.

Other benefits may include the fight against:

  • Interstitial Cystitis

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

  • Glaucoma

  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ)

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)

Cysteine is a semi-essential amino acid. It’s considered semi-essential because your body can produce it from other amino acids, namely methionine, and serine. It becomes essential only when the dietary intake of methionine and serine is low.

Cysteine is found in most high-protein foods, such as chicken, turkey, yogurt, cheese, eggs, sunflower seeds, and legumes. N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a supplement form of cysteine. Consuming adequate cysteine and NAC is important for a variety of health reasons — including replenishing the most powerful antioxidant in your body, glutathione. These amino acids also help with chronic respiratory conditions, fertility, and brain health. NAC is valued primarily for its role in antioxidant production. Along with two other amino acids — glutamine and glycine — NAC is needed to make and replenish glutathione. Glutathione is one of the body’s most important antioxidants, which helps neutralize free radicals that can damage cells and tissues in your body.

It can help prevent the side effects of drugs and environmental toxins. In fact, doctors regularly give intravenous (IV) NAC to people with an acetaminophen overdose to prevent or reduce kidney and liver damage. While glutamate is required for normal brain activity, excess glutamate paired with glutathione depletion can cause brain damage. This may contribute to mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and addictive behavior. For people with bipolar disease and depression, NAC may help decrease symptoms and improve their overall ability to function.

Approximately 15% of all couples trying to conceive are affected by infertility. In almost half of these cases, male infertility is the main contributing factor. Many male infertility issues increase when antioxidant levels are insufficient to combat free radical formation in your reproductive system. Oxidative stress can cause cell death and reduced fertility.

NAC may reduce heart disease risk by reducing oxidative damage to tissues in your heart. It has also been shown to increase nitric oxide production, which helps veins dilate and improves blood flow. Supplementing with NAC resulted in a significant increase in immune function — with an almost complete restoration of natural killer cells.

Sacha Inchi (organic)

Sacha Inchi Powder is obtained from a perennial herb native to the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. The herb has been used for centuries because of its high nutritional content and it is a reputable source for Omega-3, Omega-6, vitamin E, vitamin A, fibers, calcium, and zinc, amongst other components. It is one herb recommended by doctors and nutritionists all around the world due to the immense benefits it has. Some of which include:

Lowers bad cholesterol level; The powder lowers the levels of LDL, also known as the bad cholesterol, and raises the levels of HDL. It is vital to have the cholesterol levels in check as the first measure towards preventing a myriad of cardiovascular problems and having a healthy heart.

Improves well-being; If you normally suffer from stress or bad moods, then this is a product you can try, that will result in a positive change. The powder contains tryptophan, which is a neurotransmitter that creates a feel-good sensation by reducing stress and making us feel calm and happy.

Sacha Inchi Powder for weight loss; The higher serotonin levels contained in the seeds help to regulate your appetite, so that you don’t get a lot of cravings, overeat or take in more snacks than necessary. The end result is control of your weight and a healthier lifestyle. Sacha inchi contains 60% protein content.

Mental Health; A good part of the brain is made of fats, and it is vital to have healthy fats nourish the brain cells and fight any inflammations. Inflammation in the brain can lead to a number of problems, including fatigue, depression, exaggerated responses to pain, and memory issues amongst others.

Help with diabetes; The powder is rich in Omega-3, which is vital in controlling the glucose level within your body. Omega-3 specifically helps in lowering triglyceride levels, which are often known to be high in diabetic people.

Improves joint health; It has anti-inflammatory components, which makes it a perfect supplement for easing joint pain, and for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

Healthy Skin and Hair; The presence of Omega-3 fatty acids in the powders is also beneficial in helping to maintain healthy hair and skin. It regulates the production of oil in the dermis layer of the skin, keeps the skin elastic, prevents excessive loss of water to keep the skin hydrated, repairs damaged skin cells, and also offers protection against sun damage.

L-Glutamine

Glutamine is one of 20 naturally occurring amino acids found in protein foods. It’s also the most abundant amino acid in the bloodstream. It makes up 30 percent to 35 percent of the amino acid nitrogen in your blood. It’s a “conditionally essential amino acid”. This means that your body can make some on its own but uses it in large amounts.

The most common original uses of glutamine powder were to meet the following goals: to lose weight fast, burn fat and help build muscle. While that remains the case, science now shows that glutamine benefits are abundant. It also promotes digestive and brain health, boosts athletic performance — plus it’s helpful in treating intestinal issues and leaky gut.

The foods with the most L-glutamine benefits include; Eggs, Tofu, Milk, Bone broth, Grass-fed beef, Spirulina, Chinese cabbage, Cottage cheese, Asparagus, Broccoli rabe, Wild-caught fish (cod and salmon), Venison, Turkey, Corn, Rice.

What are the benefits of taking glutamine? New research now shows that L-glutamine benefits the body in the following ways:

1. Improves Gastrointestinal and Immune Health

2. Can Help Treat Leaky Gut and Ulcers

3. Supports Brain Health

4. May Improve IBS Symptoms and Diarrhea

5. Promotes Muscle Growth and Decreases Muscle Wasting

6. May Improve Athletic Performance and Recovery from Endurance Exercise

7. Supports Metabolic and Heart Health

Some reasons that you may run low in glutamine include:

  • Eating a low-protein diet

  • Undergoing lots of stress

  • Exercising intensely

  • Battling infections and illnesses

  • Undergoing treatments, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy

  • Having an immune disorder

  • Having a chronic gastrointestinal disorder

Acai Berry

Acai berries are a Brazilian “superfruit.” They’re native to the Amazon region where they’re a staple food. They are 1-inch (2.5-cm) round fruits that grow on acai palm trees in the rainforests of Central and South America. They have dark purple skin and yellow flesh surrounding a large seed. Because they contain pits like apricots and olives, they’re technically not a berry, but rather a drupe.

Acai berries have an incredibly high amount of antioxidants, edging out other antioxidant-rich fruits like blueberries and cranberries. The antioxidant content of foods is typically measured by an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) score. In the case of acai, 100 grams of frozen pulp has an ORAC of 15,405, whereas the same amount of blueberries has a score of 4,669. Acai could help improve cholesterol levels by decreasing total and LDL cholesterol. In addition, acai contains plant sterols, which prevent cholesterol from being absorbed by your body.

While no one food is a magic shield against cancer, some foods are known to stop cancer cells from forming and spreading. Studies have revealed this sort of anti-cancer effect in acai. Researchers have concluded that acai could have a role in treating cancer in the future, yet more research is needed, including in humans.

The antioxidants in acai counteract the damaging effects of inflammation and oxidation in brain cells, which can negatively affect memory and learning. One of the ways in which the brain stays healthy is by cleaning up cells that are toxic or no longer working, a process known as autophagy. It makes way for new nerves to form, enhancing communication between brain cells. As you age, this process works less efficiently. However, in lab tests, acai extract has helped stimulate this “housekeeping” response in brain cells.

Camu Camu

Camu Camu is considered a superfood — mainly due to a high content of certain nutrients and powerful plant compounds, including vitamin C. Vitamin C, acts as a powerful antioxidant, protecting your cells from unstable molecules called free radicals. Though free radicals are a normal byproduct of cellular function, too many can be formed as a result of stress, poor diet, and exposure to pollution. Camu Camu is estimated to contain up to 3 grams of vitamin C per 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of fruit. It can deliver up to 750% of the Reference Daily Intake (RDI) of vitamin C per teaspoon (5 grams). Camu Camu has impressive antioxidant capacities, along with many other potent compounds like flavonoid antioxidants, including anthocyanins and ellagic acid.

Chronic inflammation negatively impacts the health of your cells and has been linked to conditions like cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune disease. Camu Camu fruit pulp contains ellagic acid, an antioxidant that has been shown to inhibit the inflammation-triggering enzyme aldose reductase.

some studies suggest that Camu Camu may deliver the following benefits:

  1. Reduced weight. Animal studies indicate that the berry may reduce body weight by increasing the number of burnt calories and positively altering gut bacteria (#1Source, #2Source).

  2. Improved blood sugar levels. Research in 23 healthy people showed that Camu Camu may minimize the spike in blood sugar after eating a high-carb meal (Source).

  3. Antimicrobial properties. In a test-tube study, the peel and seeds reduced bacterial growth of the potentially harmful bacteria Escherichia coli and Streptococcus mutans (Source).

  4. Healthier blood pressure. Test-tube and human studies have observed that the berry may help reduce blood pressure by promoting the dilation of blood vessels.
