Cetyl Alcohol

Cetyl alcohol is a thickening agent and unlike the name suggests, is not alcohol in the drinking sense!

It adds body to my products as well as improving slip. It’s an emollient and thickens/hardens without the weight or tackiness of wax. It gives the body without added weight, and in anhydrous (added water) products make them silkier.

In something like a body butter bar, It’ll often reduce the waxy drag or tack to give the end product a better slip and skin feel. It’s a strong thickener without the weight and tack of waxes, offering beautiful body and silkiness to lotions and conditioners.
